We were looking around for an upright piano that would be up to the musical demands of our Gr8 and Diploma standard pianists. Our quest was over when we stumbled on the new Yamaha YUS3 range. The quality of craftsmanship and resonant deep tone this instrument possesses is second to none at this price point. Harry and all the staff at the Music Box couldn’t do enough for us. They provided a fuss free and reliable customer service. They also offered us an excellent deal on the new piano with a free stool thrown in and money back for an older piano we no longer needed. Can’t be bad. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy from the Music Box again.

I am writing to say thank you for the professional, friendly service I received when I recently purchased a GB1 Yamaha Baby Grand piano from your Manchester store.

My first contact was via your website which is an excellent representation of your business, other websites were also good but yours stood out, as it gave the detailed information I was looking for, plus the prices were very competitive. I then contacted you by phone and just a few days later I visited your store. At the store I was greeted with a warm reception and all my questions were answered, Music Box also matched all other prices I had previously seen and a complementary piano stool, free first tuning and delivery were also included with the price. Two days later the beautiful GB1 was delivered and installed without a scratch.

Thank you for the Baby Grand that was delivered last week. My son and I ordered it on a Thursday and it was delivered the next day. Although you were away at the time when we purchased the piano, we just wanted to let you know what a great selection of pianos you have and what a great team you have working with you. A big thank you to John who stayed late on the Wednesday evening and true to his word he had the piano tuned in your showroom for the Thursday so we could try this out again, this is the one which we purchased. John also delivered the piano on the Friday which was professionally delivered and made light work of this. Thank you to Phil the piano tuner, who played so beautifully. We have now booked Phil in for July to re-tune and we are looking forward to hearing him play again. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending your services. Just a note to thank you for the speedy delivery of my new Yamaha DC1M4 Disklavier piano. From the date of my first enquiry to delivery was only two weeks which was impressive, as was the price and agreed extras. The delivery team of Jon and Darren arrived on time and had the piano assembled and demonstrated in less than an hour whilst still ensuring that great care was taken to protect my new flooring. Jon also ensured that I was comfortable with the operation of the piano. You will recall that during the purchase I sought information from you in regard to your business as I had concerns about parting with a considerable sum of money up front to a company that was unknown to me. Within 24 hours, you found me a number of suitable choices, all very competitively priced, and within 3 weeks of my first phone call to you, a gorgeous C2E3 arrived in the South of France in perfect condition, to coincide with my visit there. None of the French or London-based piano dealers I called could match your range of Disklavier products, prices and, importantly for me, speed of delivery, and the piano’s 800 miles journey from Manchester was well worth it. Would you believe I was just sitting down here to do exactly that. Our new baby arrived Thursday evening weighing in at something like half a ton. The two boys had come a long way so we all sat down and had a nice meal and a chat. Lovely guys and so professional. The Moutrie 152 is a little beauty. She sounds great and looks great. She's probably worth at least three times the price and possibly will be in time as the Moutrie brand grows in reputation on his side of the world. Having played this piano alongside Steinways, Bechsteins, Yamahas and Kawais there is no way that there is what can often be tens of thousands of pounds of a difference between them and the Moutrie. It also has to be said that the style and build of the piano is exceptional, absolutely gorgeous. All this means is that the Moutrie is absolutely amazing value for money, not least for the deal that is available at The Music Box. The duet stool that arrived compliments of Harry is strong and beautifully made, a pretty piece of furniture in its own right! (and large enough and comfortable enough that one could almost lie down on it and have a nap)

The whole buying process was so easy and relaxed. Everyone, not least the boss himself King Harry, was so informed friendly, helpful and efficient. I could not recommend the experience strongly enough. Thanks again then to Harry and everyone at the Music Box, Manchester for what is, for our family , a heirloom.

Your people delivered the Yamaha C3 a couple of days ago and despite my reservations about attempting to get it into our preferred room due to very limited access they managed it without drama.

I would like to thank you for the superb service you and your staff have given us, you allowed my son Jack to spend up to three hours in your warehouse playing on various pianos and, although we did end up buying the one we were originally set on, it did confirm to us that we had chosen the right instrument for us.

I can truly say that it was almost a pleasure to spend so much money, it was certainly painless anyway.

Many thanks for the wonderful service that you provided and the delivery of our excellent new piano. I am delighted to say that what you say on the box is what you do and with no hidden extras.

The piano was brand new as stated and faultless, at a lower price than any other supplier I could find (and I did search long and hard), and delivered within three working days. Wonderful.

I must make a special comment about the expert operation of the two delivery guys. They kept me informed of their progress and arrived within a couples of minutes of the ETA. They demonstrated exceptional ability in how they moved the piano, and set the instrument up in place where we wanted, it all within about ten minutes of their arrival.

Praise well deserved and long may you continue to give satisfaction to all your customers.

The dust has now settled following the move into our new home. Things have worked out really well and bride of place is our fabulous Yamaha Disklavier.

I felt I had to write to thank you for the marvellous service from our first contact when I was trying to source the right piano all the way through to the delivery and setting up of my piano. You were competitive on price but it was clear from what you had to say that there was not going to be any compromise on quality of product or service delivery. You listened well to what I was trying to achieve and found the perfect solution for me – which I have to say when I set out to find a piano - was far better than I had really thought possible within my budget.

You always took time to deal with any queries I had and the 300 odd miles between us didn’t matter at all. John, who delivered the piano, was great and although not a pianist himself was incredibly enthusiastic about the whole thing. It goes without saying that the piano arrived on time and without a hitch.

We are getting enormous pleasure from our disklavier that includes the non-playing members of the family as well.

I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone looking for a piano.

I just wanted to send you a quick note to express how delighted I am with the piano, the service and support I have received from the Music Box. As you know I was originally looking to purchase a Yamaha C3 Grand piano and as I live near Milton Keynes I travelled to the main Yamaha dealerships in the surrounding areas and London trying to find my dream piano.

Fortunately I found the Music Box and after taking a drive up to Manchester with my Music Teacher (who has supported famous professional music artists), we were able to experience the vast range of pianos you had available in your showroom.

We finalised our choice down to two fine instruments, the Yamaha C3 Grand Piano and the Moutrie 186 Grand Piano.

After much practice and deliberation trying to separate the two instruments side by side, we decided to purchase the Moutrie 186 (Moutrie's equivalent to the C3). It is a superb instrument, it boasts excellent sound and build quality and is simply unbelievable value for money.

Jon delivered the piano and set it up for me 5 months ago and we are delighted with the piano in every way. After recently experiencing a minor clicking sound, you promptly sent an engineer to my house who fixed the issue in under 10 minutes. As a result of my experience I will never consider buying a piano again from any another supplier.

The piano, the support and ongoing service I have received from the MusicBox has been exceptional.

If you ever have any prospective customers who would like to speak to a Moutrie 186 owner, please don't hesitate to send them my way.

I phoned a while back and spoke to a lady at your showroom who said it was best to leave the post delivery tuning a while longer, to allow the piano to settle.

When could you arrange the post delivery tuning? ( is this something you arrange, or do you give me their number to arrange a date afterwards? )

The pitch is still quite good, just a slight ringing on a few of the higher notes, more emphasised when pressing the sustain pedal.

As we have previously discussed, I will be keeping the piano on loan whilst deciding whether to upgrade to a Yamaha YUS1 Silent. If I do decide to upgrade, you will treat the £2,950 I have paid as a down payment for the Yamaha and you will swap the two pianos without a delivery charge and provide a free re-tuning once the Yamaha has settled in. Alternatively if I decide that I want to keep permanently the piano you have just delivered, you will treat the money I have paid as the purchase price and there will be nothing more to pay. I will let you know as soon as possible whether I want to upgrade to the Yamaha.

As just mentioned when we spoke on the telephone, I think that the A flat below middle C on the piano delivered yesterday went out of tune during transit. I would like to say "Thank You" what a pleasure it has been purchasing a new piano through you. We came to the shop last Saturday and was met by John who was absolutely brilliant, he gave us all the advice we needed from technical, price, look and made us feel very welcome.

Dear Harry,

Just a word to say many thanks to all at Music Box for the attention we have received during the purchase of our new Moutrie 186 grand. Despite it's journey down to Hertfordshire, it has stayed very well in tune since it arrived just over a month ago. I have tweaked a few unisons here and there, but even to my critical ear, it won't need to be fully tuned for a while yet. That says quite a lot for the build quality I think. These really are such good pianos, and for the money, they are unbelievable. I'm recommending them to all my tuning customers whenever I get the chance! Big thanks also to the transport team, and to Arron, your technician, who did a very thorough job a few days ago in making a few final adjustments to the action. it now plays wonderfully. I really believe that the 186 comes seriously close to the Yamaha C3 in playability and sound quality, despite the huge difference in price. In fact I think the bass is clearer than the C3. And combine that with the warmth of the mid and upper parts of the keyboard, which really brighten up with increased velocity, and overall you have an excellent piano. If you have any potential Moutrie buyers down our way, they would be most welcome to come and try ours first! Many thanks again Harry.

Following delivery of my Moutrie 186 from Manchester to the South Coast it has now been fine tuned and regulated by my piano tuner (who numbers one of the world's leading concert, broadcasting and recording pianists amongst his many clients) and my piano now plays and sounds absolutely superb. You have received an emailed report from the tuner that concludes that "taking into account size, quality and price the Moutrie is as good a buy as you are going to get!" I couldn't agree more.

Furthermore I would just like to pay tribute to the excellent and efficient service that you provide. My initial contact was in regard to another brand of instrument that brought forth your remark "What do you want to buy one of those for when I can supply a much better grand piano for less money. What is more I will transport one to your house in Dorset for a fourteen day trial - at no cost to yourself - and if you don't like it I'll arrange to collect it, again without any cost to you.

This was an offer I could not refuse from a man who was prepared to put his money where his mouth is!

The piano duly arrived at the appointed hour on the day scheduled and was installed in the house with quiet confidence , skill and expertise by your two vehicle drivers.

Initial playing next day indicated that the piano had gone out of tune slightly during transit and I also found the touch rather heavy for my personal liking. A brief telephone call to you brought immediate agreement for me to contact a local tuner to correct the situation - at your expense.

Harry - I couldn't be more pleased or delighted.

Dear Harry,

My wife and I want you to know how satisfied we are with our new Yamaha PX124 which arrived last Thursday. It will serve as a very useful partner to our fine Yamaha C Grand which is also relatively new in that it was purchased only two years ago.

Your delivery men arrived promptly at 6-30pm as they had informed us earlier in the day. Personally I feel they have must felt totally exhausted having been on the road from early in the morning, especially facing the long haul back to Manchester. However, that did not come across in their dealings with us since they were most friendly and helpful.

Today, our regular Tuner Mr T Twissell from Bath came and spent much of the day tuning the two pianos with the result that they sound superb in duo work. It is our plan to have the new piano retuned every three months for the first year since I know just how long it takes for the strings/soundboard to settle down. A certain amount of stretching is inevitable and it is my view that if a new instrument is well-cared for tuning-wise during its first year, it pays dividends in the future.

Finally, I must say that my wife and I will have no hesitation in recommending you to any of our pupils who may be looking for a new piano.

I'm just writing to thank you and the team for an excellent and speedy service from all concerned. My PX124NT is now very much at home and the new stool is great too. I shall now have to start practicing again.

On the day of delivery, the van (with piano) arrived at my house before I did. Being a courteous pair (John and Mr X), they didn't give me a hard time despite waiting an extra 20 minutes while I drove home along the windy roads of rural Perthshire. However, the sun was of course shining (this is Scotland) and it was a lovely afternoon to have a wee wait. Suffice to say, the weather's getting its own back and it's now bucketing down in snow.

I shall leap at the chance to recommend you to anyone who is after a new piano.

The Moutrie 186 piano was delivered at about 7.30 this morning - the removal guys being most efficient, despite having to wheel it halfway round the garden to get it into the house!

My thanks go to you, and also to them, for my new toy - and you'll also be pleased to know it's stayed almost completely in tune, so my tuner shouldn't have very much to do when he comes on Monday.

I'm very pleased with my choice; the treble tone is nice and clear, and the bass remarkably rich sounding compared to the Webers, Waldsteins and Reid -Sohns I tried before coming to see you. I hadn't expected to not only get a stool, but also castor cups and a frilly edged cover as well - there's even a cover for the stool !?

Please feel free to use any part of this email as a testimonial for your website, and also, for the time we remain in UK, I am happy for anybody in the vicinity wanting to consider one of these pianos, to come and have a look at mine if they wish.

We are both delighted with the piano and the stool, which are already looking at home. Dennis and Brian were fantastic and very capable. What a stroke of luck about the van!

Still tipping down here - you will see on the pictures that the ?lads? got very wet but the piano stayed cosy and dry.

Hope you had a good holiday and that you managed to equal or beat the 30-pounder!

Just to let you know that the S4 is settling in very nicely – we can't really imagine how the living room used to look without it. It really is a fantastic beast and is getting lots of use.

That and sharp humidity changes this close to the mountains mean that our tuner, Patrick Domene, will also be very happy. He came to do the first tune a couple of weeks ago and was absolutely knocked out by the S4 – don't think he'd ever played one before, although he has a C3 himself. I keep trying to persuade him to ask you for a quote to upgrade, although I'm not sure this would be a great idea for us as his fees would have to go up to pay for it

Hope you managed to find a good home for the Chappell.
