iQ Flex – Use your individual audio playback device for playing your piano!

The system includes:

• PianoDisc iQ Flex Player Piano System
• Several hours of preselected PianoDisc Music (5 PianoCD albums)

iQ Flex is the basis of all iQ player piano system packages.

The system comes with the electronic equipment required to play your piano electronically e.g. 88 key solenoids for playing every single key of your piano, a larger solenoid to operate the right pedal, for grand pianos the kit also includes a metal cover to cover up the circuit boards and key solenoids. More over that the system for grand pianos includes the so called pedal trap work, an ingenious lever system to maintain the function, of the pedals of the piano after installation, without any modification. At PianoDisc we generally keep in mind that the acoustic piano should be modified as little as possible by the installation of
our equipment (with special regard to the use as normal acoustic piano). This is one of the reasons why all the parts of our system are mounted to parts of the piano that are irrelevant for the sound of the piano – that is to make sure that the installation does not hurt the piano in any way: neither with regard to the resale value, nor with regard to the sound or playability.

The iQ series uses our patented SilentDrive® technology to play our favourite songs on the piano at various levels of volume, always with full dynamic expression.

The iQ Flex system is designed for the savvy customer, which already owns an iPod, a CD-player, a computer, a PlayStation or another audio player to be used for controlling the iQ Flex player system. Because that is all you need to control the piano with iQ Flex system installed – a simple audio player.

Requirements for the audio player to be used with the system:

1. The audio player needs to be able to play Stereo Audio in CD quality
2. An audio output with adjustable volume (e.g. Headphone connector)
3. Possibility to insert and play Music CDs or for importing your own music as MP3 in CD quality

From the factory the iQ Flex system is delivered with five PianoDisc Music albums and four PianoVideos in MPEG4-format on a backup DVD. This ensures listening enjoyment right from the beginning!

If you would like to play MIDI files on your piano, there are two ways to do that:

1. Send the MIDI data to the iQ system via the MIDI IN connector at the system
   OR
2. Use the MusiConnect software by PianoDisc, to convert your MIDI data in the PianoDisc stereo audio format – this format can then be played in your usual audio player to control the piano.

More music can conveniently be purchased online and downloaded via PianoDisc’s online music store and the PianoDisc MusiConnect software. MusiConnect unpacks the music and imports it in the well-known iTunes® software – this is an easy to use and self explaining software by Apple® for organizing your music. The iTunes software is also used to transfer your favourite music to the iPod.

Upon request the following optional features can be added to the system:

• Record Strip under the keys for MIDI OUTPUT and PianoDisc Audio format-OUTPUT
• QuietTime Silent System as MIDI-OUTPUT and for playing the piano via headphones
